Interview With Youngest Chess Champion

  We are reprodusing exclusive interview of Rudraksh Parida Under-7 National Chess Champion from Orissa recently taken by us. Since he can not speak English or Hindi fluently his father helped us in it.
ICA - Congratulations for winning Nation Chess Championship. At what age you started playing chess? Who taught you chess ?
Rudraksh-  At the age of six I started learning as well as playing chess. Mr S R Pattnaik taught me the game.
ICA- How much time you devote to chess? Does it effects your studies ?
Rudraksh - On an average I used to give 3-4 hours on a daily basis. It does not effect my studies at all.
ICA - Who else in your family plays chess? Do you have any elder brother or sister who plays chess?
Rudraksh - My elder brother plays chess and he is also good at same.
ICA - Do you play any other game? If yes which one ?
Rudraksh - Yes I play cricket.
ICA - How your teachers and other students of your school reacted when you reached back after winning trophy at Ahemdabad.
Rudraksh - When I reached back at school my teachers and friends were overwhelmed with joy and greeted me like anything.
ICA - Who is your present coach ?
Rudraksh - My present coaches are Mr Satya Ranjan Pattnaik and Mr Arghya Arpana Parida.
ICA - Do you play chess on internet ?
Rudraksh - No, I don't play on net.
ICA - Would you like to say something to students of our Academy ?
Rudraksh - I would like to say that don't take chess or sport as joke but take it seriously and play it seriously and never under estimate your opponent.
